Hm I tried to search up TJs for you and not finding any good results. I would assume they have microplastics. Finish them off and then switch to loose or Numi was listed as a brand without plastic in my brief searching...

What about paper tea bags? Like with twinnings teas. Those might be bleached but they're not plastic

It's unavailable, and I don't actually recommend it if you want to pour quickly. The gooseneck is fun and elegant but it pours slowly.

Another thing to be worried about is the plastic inside your kettle. Although most kettles are made of stainless steel, many still have plastic components inside the kettle where the water goes. All of that boiling water coming into contact with the plastic cannot be good.

Agreeing on loose tea - I like the basket style metal mesh strainer/infusers for ease of use/cleaning and ability to retain leaves. I love Harney & Sons loose teas.

I have no idea about microplastics, but loose leaf tea is a huge step up in taste!

I love ordering from Arbor Teas. I use a metal strainer. Certain kinds of tea/tisanes are worse than others for tending to get crushed and get through the strainer, but I don't have an issue with it often.

If you have a favorite kind of bagged tea currently, I can help you pick a similar loose leaf tea.

Unless it specifies muslin tea bag somewhere, you have a plastic bag which will release microplastics, that you will end up accumulating in your body, with possible hormonal or inflammation consequences.

I switched to loose tea, but then had a hard time finding a metal strainer that really strained out all the little bits. There are muslin bags you can reuse, but I hate dealing with them. So my solution is to buy high end tea leaves that haven't been crushed into powder: right now, I buy Rishi tea.
