This. There are some rides the older kids may not be interested in. There is plenty for your youngest to ride.

If your DH is coming, than this is not an issue at all. You travel as a pack and ride the rides people are interested in and break off when there is a different interest or size (meaning someone does not want to ride the spinning ride or is too short for a ride). You and older travel with friend and friend's kid. But, you try to include younger when it works. DH takes younger when things don't work.

Several summers ago, we took our then 2, 4, and 6 year olds to Hersheypark for the first time. The older 2 were able to go on 3 of the roller coasters-Trailblazer, SooperDooperLooper, and Comet, on top of the smaller kiddie rides. Plus they have the zoo there as well, so although I’ve never been to Dutch Wonderland, I’m of the opinion that Hersheypark is perfectly fine for kids around that age.

We have season passes for Busch Gardens. Older DD is 7 and 46 inches tall, and younger DD is nearly 3 and 37 inches tall. We have no problem finding plenty of rides and activities for both girls, and they both love it!
We’ve not been to a Hershey Park with them. I’ll never go back to Kings Dominion.

Op here. I did not think of 2 kids seating together for rides & my youngest could not fit in 2 seats rides. If we go, DH will come as well. At dutch wonderland, I had got on some rides that can sit all 4 of us together, inc. DH. I thought kid would love to sit with a parent.

The water park is fun and very kid friendly. Their website has the height requirements for each ride so you you may want to look at that to see how your kids measure up. They have many kid rides.

I don't know if cost is a consideration but Hershey Park is more expensive than Dutch Wonderland. We go to Dutch Wonderland every year, but finally this year are making the switch to Hershey Park. My kids are 7 and 10.

I was going to switch to Hershey Park last year but my older kid wanted to go to ride a certain roller coaster (Merlin's Magic or something like that). She had a bad experience at Six Flags with summer camp last year where she was too short for the rides when they went so I think she wanted to go somewhere she knew she could ride even the biggest roller coaster.

You’re going to need to research this one. I’d look at park maps for the one with the most little kid rides as well as littles ride with adult and most frequent indoor and outdoor shows, tell her you’ll go but explain that you might be limited in what you can ride.

If she has one child you basically let her be in charge of the older one riding together or let them ride alone while both watch your other child while you wait. Or take an extra adult or two to divide and conquer together. Little kid rides are available everywhere but there just aren’t that many. If your little one is very impatient you might leave him at home and make this a special trip for the older one and take younger to Dutch wonderland alone or something. Kings Dominion might not be bad because there are some kids ride with an adult type rides mixed in but most kid rides in one area.

I have 2 kids. One is under 42" and one is 48". My friend with a kid over 48" asks us if we want to take kids to hershey park together this summer. I hesitate because of the height restriction of rides.

We took them to dutch wonderland last year, and I still remember the hysteric crying from my youngest one with an ice cream cone when he could not get on ONE ride due to his height. My kids are 4 and 7. The other kid is 9. We have not taken them to six flags, kings dominion or busch garden yet. Are they more little kid friendly than hershey park? Should we do hershey park on our own, with my friend, or wait later? I don't know how to juggle with 2 kids when there are restriction of kids height. The youngest like to follow my oldest kid everywhere. And, how is their waterpark, kid friendly?
