For middle school? You can take a fifth grade seat at Mundo Verde or Stokes and have as much of a shot at DCI as anyone else. I agree a small, IT-esque bilingual middle school option would have been nice, but DCPS kids have access if they’re willing to hop schools for fifth and gamble on not totally bombing the lottery for sixth.

Are they among the 4% of students who are at grade level in math? Because it's those 22 kids whose parents I wonder about the most.

Agree, incredibly disappointing. I understand that restriction may have made sense when DCI first started, but not anymore. Also - Stokes wanted to open something EOTR. Would that seriously be competition for DCI? Doubtful, IMO.
