No, I disagree. I drive for my job and have to merge into traffic all day. It's MUCH easier to see a car coming up behind you if they have the running lights.

Leaving them on auto, is the right move.

I run on a mixed use path in the mornings when it's pitch dark, but there's street lights (it runs adjacent to a road). I can't tell you the number of people that are driving either without lights on at all, or on high beams. There's no in between with the morons.

Unless you're on a dark country road, no one should be using high beams. Especially if there's street lights! If you can't see with your regular lights, then you shouldn't be driving.

May not be a DRL-specific issue, but I see too many drivers with NO rear lights on at dusk/night. They often don't realize it because there is just enough light ahead of them (from their own vehicle or others). Leave the lights on Auto, please! (I consider adaptive/auto high-beam a separate matter.)

Absolutely. This is a huge problem. I just light up my high beams on these cars. Sorry, I'm not just going to sit there and take it. If you can disable the adaptive high-beams in your car, for the love of God, please disable them, you're causing havoc for people whether you know it or not.

My 2017 Chevy Volt has led daytime lights-so it's not the actual headlights, but like a strip horizontally below the headlights that lights up.

I leave my lights set on 'auto' at all times, so it's either the running lamps or the headlights on at all times.

LED headlight retrofit bulbs aren’t DOT approved, thus auto parts stores won’t stock them. Only available through online retailers

I don't know, I thought they were standard on new cars but lately I see a lot of people with no lights at dusk or in the rain.

Our 2010 has DRL but our 2018 does not — I see some large American SUV with LED lightropes as DRL.

I thought this greatly improved visibility of cars, why did it go away? Still a thing in Canada though
