Guessing the same. It’s the only thing I’ve ever heard of having difficulty getting tickets. I go to lots of HS musicals and they’ve never been sold out.

Yes, that’s the show. It was a very good show too so I understand why it was sold out and I wondered if that was the same in all high schools. When I went to buy tickets I was surprised that I had to hunt for several days and showtimes to find tickets. But then I saw the secondary market where it appears that people buy up several rows and then sell them off.

What’s so special about this show?

At my HS, staff can get up to 4 tickets free.

Can subs get the free tickets? Would love that but we don't have any school or district issued IDs.

I’m not sure how it works with other schools, but we just get a form in our individual mailboxes and we indicate how many tickets we want. No need for IDs. YMMV.

My guess is Sherwood's Rock n Roll revival.

I have a theatre kid, and her shows have never been sold out, not even close. There are always tickets available.

Please name the HS with sold out shows

How?

I think it depends on the school.

Op here and the one night we went the auditorium was full. There may have been an empty seat mixed in, but it looked sold out.

We usually attend a few every year and no this doesn't seem to be a thing. A secondary market for hs musicals seems crazy.

Are all high school shows popular in MCPS? There's a secondary ticket market for these shows on my listerv and the tickets get scooped up nearly immediately. Do families buy 20-30 tickets and then unload them? They are not selling higher than face value, and they are not profiting.
