I agree that you may want to ask in the Kids with Special Needs Forum as well.

My advise as a parent with two kids with IEPs, is to ask yourself whether what you are asking for is something that the school can reasonably/remotely do. Ultimately, you can spend a ton of money and get a great IEP, but if the school simply doesn't have the staff to do whatever it is you are asking for, you are unlikely to get the services that your child needs. And if they are services that can be accomplished through private tutoring, that might be a better use of your time and money (e.g., if your child is dyslexic, spend your money on outside OG tutoring rather than fighting for tutoring that the school is not really going to effectively provide).

Also, be realistic as to when the school can provide the services. If you want pull out services, they are going to interfere with something. There is only so much time in the school day and only so much staff, so if you/your child is going to have to be flexible and likely give something up to get those services.

I'd rather have someone who will help me advocate but also willing to work with the team and not against them. Suggestions please?

Suzie Keith Blattner Is awesome. Have you tried central office? Depending on the issue they can be very helpful (we ended up not hiring a lawyer and just did a bunch of advocating ourselves and w our doctors.
