Read the book “Marijuana Horticulture” by Jorge Cervantes. It is essentially a Master’s level book in growing. Soil chemistry, light manipulation, cloning, strains, grow mediums, hydroponics, ventilation, atmospheric gas supplementation, pests, diseases, sanitation, processing buds, et al. It covers literally everything, exhaustively. If you read this book cover to cover, you will know more about growing weed than 99.9% of anyone you will ever meet who grows weed.

Pro Tip - only rank amateurs grow outside. Outdoor weed is ditch weed and usually filled with seeds. All the really good stuff is 100% indoor grown under almost-laboratory conditions.

Back when i first experimented, Ed Rosenthal wrote the bible on growing. Now that it's mainstream, tons of info out there.

Yes buy clones, or seeds from the internet from Europe. It can be a fun and rewarding hobby if you are looking for one, but yes so much good flower available for sale i'd only recommend for a passion project.

I got some seedlings when growing was first legalized in DC and they all died. Then we got lamps, special soil, more seedlings, seeds, and some personal advice from a grower. Everything died again.

Cheaper to buy in my experience, but good luck.

It will become legal to grow in Maryland July 1st, not yet, so the MJ gardners are only in VA and DC. Advice for MD gardners?
