I am thrilled for my pre-k kid because she got in everywhere (except GDS where she was waitlisted) and had loads of great options. For my rising fourth grader, I am a 3. She has great options as well but got waitlisted at her top two choices. Given that there were far less spots for 4th, I wouldn't put myself at 4 or 5 because I know there are kids who got completely shut out and that didn't happen to us.

More aid would have been nice, but my kid — who hasn’t heard the news yet — is going to go bonkers when he learns he got into his favorite school. Waitlisted everywhere else, but having his top choice for MS see what we see in him (a shy, reserved, quirky and very sweet human) thrills me to no end.

So for your pre-K? Did your pre-k child get into Sidwell?
