This is one of my favorite Youtube channels for getting more motivation on the rowing machine. He is an olympic gold medalist.

My husband just got the concept 2. It was $1200 with the mats. He uses it every day.

Same-- struggling with a shoulder injury. Theoretically I could still use the concept2 by keeping my arms straight and just using my legs, but it's tough to fight that muscle memory and stop using my arms.

Good luck to your recovery!

Another vote for concept 2. Regret selling ours.

We have a Water Rower - this one:

Love it. Going on 10 years of ownership. It's a highly effective workout.

I highly recommend the hydrow, although it’s more expensive and has a monthly cost. If you can learn how to row on your own and are motivated then maybe it’s not worth it but it is much more engaging and I look forward to using it which makes the cost worthwhile for me.

There is also an app you can use with the C2 so I know some people consider that the right way to go.

There are lots of “connected” rowers— I have a friend who likes the ergatta (which uses a water rower) and peloton just came out with an even more expensive rower I think.

I have one of these that I've put more than 5 million meters on. I highly recommend it:

DH thinks the water rowers will all spill and leak over time. I used to take indoor rowing exercise with a water rower at DC Row and actually enjoyed it. I see the new RowHouse studios do not use water rowers.

Which type do you own?
