NP. Let me introduce you to the concept of at-will employment.
Thus far my kids have worked summer camps. They are also involved in fall sports and they do not get their full schedules until after tryout week. Therefore having an employer that wants your schedule ahead of time is near impossible for the month of August. One of my kids also worked front desk/snack bar of our pool and the pool was fine with him giving a week to week schedule for the month of August. I'd have your kid be up front with an employer and just tell them that the month of August is hard to predict due to summer marching band erratic schedule and have them ask if it would be ok to submit schedule week to week in August.Anonymous wrote:Just curious if your teens who do fall sports or band are able to find typical summer jobs. Band starts at the very end of July (and it’s a pretty intense schedule at our school) so at most he could do one weekend shift after that point.

I'm not the OP but band at our school has a very intense schedule that is different every day and varies week to week as well. There are weeks where it is 3.5 hours a break and then back for another 3 hours. There is no way to predict the schedule ahead of time.Anonymous wrote:band in summer does not take all day or the weekend.
