Sorry, is there something about a rodent (other than your personal judgment) that makes their meat.. not meat or something? I’m not sure about the point of your post? I’m also guessing you’ve never spent 1:1 time with a well socialized chicken, pig, or cow.

My husband is from Ecuador, where they also serve cuy. I shared the post you are probably referencing and the first thing he said was that he wondered how they got it here.
Turns out the FDA regulates it under exotic meats, which also includes rabbit, bison, and for some reason venison.
