We’ve done this too but only with our kid with a chronic medical condition. She also has our insurance card.

This. I wouldn’t bring these kids if I thought their parents would sue me.

Mom of older kids who has taken countless friends on trips. Never once did this occur to me.

I think this is your answer. We take kids all the time and haven’t had issues. And then ts hard to imagine navigating a busy life that involves carpools and the like if you worry about this. But if you do, the. You’ll be miserable and anxious so you probably shouldn’t do it.

Your DH is paranoid. But also get umbrella insurance. I have a $3M policy for like $300 annually.

Do both children have health insurance? We have an only DD now 10. We’ve taken a friend of hers with us several times to different places ( not on a plane) and it’s been fine..

I just can’t imagine my DC friends’ parents asking me to sign something for a trip they invited DC to go on. This is so weird.

This seems like an excessive worry. Just as likely he causes a car accident and someone else sued him. Unless you are letting kids drink or something, this isn’t a reasonable worry as we could all get sued at any time by anyone

If you feel that way, don't bring them. I can't imagine being asked to sign a liability waiver by a friend's parent.

My DH is the same way, that’s why we would never bring kids that are not ours on a trip. Chances of something happening are slim, but the anxiety is real!

You should get umbrella insurance. Liability releases aren’t very enforceable.

We are taking a short trip to Philadelphia and bringing 2 of my 13 yr old DS friends along. My DH is worried something will happen and we will get sued. Is there some form we should have them sign? We aren’t rich, lower end of UMC.
