And while urochester is an amazing Eng school, they do not give much merit if any. CWRU prob gives the most

This is such a useful thread! My daughter is looking at several of these, and we have no idea what "good merit" at these institutions looks like. We will be OK if she gets into a top tier because of need based aid, but we won't qualify for that or much as other schools, so this is really helpful.

If anyone else wants to weigh in with merit offered at various schools, it would be much appreciated. Thanks so much!

Now he just needs to make a decision

Jeff Selingo's Buyers and Sellers spreadsheet has Lafayette as a "mild buyer" offering merit aid to 14% of students without respect to financial need.

I have a friend whose daughter is at Stevens Institute of Technology and really likes it. It looks like they offer a lot of merit aid.

For a variety of reasons I don't think my kid will do well at a large state school, but we can't afford $80K/year for a private. What are some smaller schools that have engineering programs that also offer good merit aid? I think GPA will end up being around 4.3W. Prefer staying on the east coast.
