OP here -- so would it be fair to say that Walls is more humanities focused? Or does the fact that students have access to GWU broaden the pool of science classes available?
Although it says it in the mission, I don’t consider walls to be more humanities focused. The issue is more that it’s a small school and it can’t offer as many science electives as other schools. That being said, I don’t know any students in recent memory who haven’t taken all of the science electives they wanted by the time they graduated. That includes current seniors, who took AP Bio last year and are taking AP chem this year.

FYI - Walls is non-committal about everything so if you need more, it is not the school for you. If you expect communications like that from Principal Neal at Deal - you are not going to get it.
Were it so easy! The link to courses on the Walls website goes to nowhere (and it only mentions SY20-21 courses). The current course offerings are nowhere to be found. At least JR has it on their Counseling page (which was hard to find but at least available).

The mission statement has the word humanities in it.
If this is not what you are looking for - apply to another school.

If I was to do it again, I would get the course listings for all schools considering an map out what your child might do.
FYI - Walls is non-committal about everything so if you need more, it is not the school for you. If you expect communications like that from Principal Neal at Deal - you are not going to get it.

We also have similar concerns. DD is on track for AP Calc next year if we stay where we are. I asked specifically about AP chem at hte open house, and it was very vague "we offer what the student are interested in" kind of answer.

We were wondering about the AP classes offered. At the virtual Open House, it was hard to get a sense of the range of science AP classes offered. Apparently they offered AP Chem for the first time in 3 years! It wasn't clear whether AP Physics C (Mechanics and E&M) was offered at all. Also, we could not get any information about math classes beyond AP Calc BC. It seems that these courses are all offered at JR, if only because it is a larger school. Finally, is the Walls admin accommodating enough to let a student take AP Calc in 9th and whatever progression follows?
