That's not how the lottery works. You should ONLY rank based on your own preference. You don't get any improved chance by ranking easier schools higher:

That does not make it more likely you'll get in.

Cooper will also be easier to get into because fewer kids with sibling preference, but they obviously have less to offer at this time than the main campus, so unless you strongly prefer the location, I would rank 2nd Street first.

Yes, Cooper will be moving to Kirov in 3 years. There is no strategic benefit to putting the easier to get into school first since you receive no benefit for listing it higher. You should put them in your true order of preference.

I am assuming that Cooper might be easier to get into for 5th grade because its a terrible location? We could make either location work, just trying to figure out the best strategy. I am still hoping that Cooper campus will move to former Kirov location in a couple of years as well. Any intel?
