“In 2009, Gilbert published her autobiography, "Prairie Tale: A Memoir" describing her battles with drug and alcohol abuse and co-dependence on men. Gilbert told "Today" that she realized she had a drinking problem after passing out drunk in the dog bed while a friend was over for dinner.”

I vaguely recall articles about her divorce and my takeaway was she had issues.

She left Hollywood and acting eventually, but it seemed like she struggled with losing her celebrity status identity.

Re: Jonathan - he couldn’t act. His parents probably forced him into it. It was painful watching him on LHOTP.

His sisters are odd. They’ve had drama. He was adopted. Maybe his adopted parents and sisters were Hollywood weirdos and he just wanted a normal life? Seems like ditching acting and the family to relocate to NYC and have a normal job/life speaks volumes. He probably had an awakening in college.
His older sister was adopted too. His younger sister is the product of his father’s second marriage. I am not sure why you say Melissa or Sara is weird. Both are working in the business. Melissa even took a turn as President of SAG. They seem to raise their children out of the spotlight.
