They said that they felt like he acts condescending toward me and that it rubbed them the wrong way
What exactly is he saying? Did he hire you?

The issue I am having now is that the person I report to, a male, is condescending to me. I realize I am just starting out, and at first I thought it was just my imagination, but now another colleague of mine has also mentioned it without prompting.
Any advice on how to handle this? I have to tread carefully, as I am new, and I am still trying to get a feel for the culture, and also I report to this person so I want to have a good working relationship.
I have been grinding at top firms in my industry for 15 years and my boss is still condescending to me. It's more reflective of his narcissism, not your actual ability.

Anonymous wrote:My advice is to not overthink it. Is his behavior specific to just you? If so, you might consider scheduling time with him to ask for feedback on your performance thus far. That gives him an opportunity to express any concerns he has about the quality of your work. If he says everything is fine, then I'd just ignore his behavior. Some people are just like that.
