Are you volunteering to buy the food and sell the food all day and police where the food is eaten and then pick up all the trash?

Except literally every High School that has concession stands for their indoor sports

Those same schools ban anything other than water in gyms for non-school events.

Except for when youth programs offer to run the concession and they allow it? I've been to 15+ youth wrestling events, for orgs unaffiliated with the school and they have all had wrestling events.

They don't do it for youth basketball bc youth basketball is too decentralized/unorganized. Not because the school prevents

A condition of our permits with ncs for fcps school gyms including HS gyms are that only water is allowed in the gym. They threaten to cancel your permit.

Jeez. This is the second thread in the past week where my experiences in MD have been vastly different than VA. The other was related to using cash (as opposed to digital only) for entrance fees to school sporting events.

I am very glad that MCPS, FCPS (FredCo), CCPS, HCPS all don't have these seem rules here in MD

If it was digital only, I just wouldn't show up.

Assume this is another VA rule?

Are you willing to organize and staff this? It takes a TON of time/effort

This. It’s hard work and most of us do it only because it’s required for our kids. Did you ever work a fast food job? It’s like that but worse because you are older. I wish we could write a check and not do it at all.

We have concessions at basketball tournaments, but the food is banned in the gym. That limits sales because you can't drink or eat while watching your kid

Seems like PTAs could raise some money at these basketball games.
