I only have a vet tech or vet express anal glands as needed. Groomers only do it from the outside. Vets and techs do it internally and know exactly where it might be impacted/complicated.

If it's done too often, they won't be able to do it themselves by scooting. It will just be irritated.

Is this unusual for your dog? Hopefully it's not impacted (plugged). Did the groomer tell you how it went, if they did it for sure?

When my dog has it done, she tends to still lick the area (she never scoots) for about a day.

Some dogs just do that anyway. Mine scoots every day and gets her glands done once a month when the vet cuts her nails. He says it can just be a behavior sometimes.
