I second the previous poster - Sarah Wayland of Guiding Exceptional Parents is wonderful. She is in MD, so she is more familiar with supports and specialists in MD; but although we're in NoVa, she has been a great support for me as I've navigated the teen years with my sons - one autistic, one with serious anxiety.

You could look for a BCBA that has experience with parent training. I’d find someone that can provide in home services if this is going to be directly related to interactions with your child. Find someone in your area at www.bacb.com

As our ASD DC will start middle school next year, we are interested in finding a parenting coach. We probably should have had someone onboard with us already but want to start now. How does one find a parenting coach? Is this a regular therapist or should I be looking for someone else?
