Subject: If your high school kid has an IEP for ADHD, what supports do they receive?
High school teacher. My adhd students have a mix of the following in their 504s
Extended time
Access to teacher notes (electronically)
Reminders to stay on task
Testing in small groups (<30) for things like AP/IB/state tests
Preferential seating (near front, away from door, in back for ability to stand up as needed, just depends on kid)
Large projects broken into interim deadlines

But the anxiety has improved a lot. The ADHD is currently the primary concern. It's inattentive, no hyperactivity at all.
are you moving to FCPS or different school system?
I noticed in FCPS the special ED Teacher will have the final say on students grade. It's different PWCS where the General ED teacher will do all the grading the SPED teacher might say something, but the GEN ED teacher will end up doing the grading, in some cases it might make a different if they will one up or down.
No we're in the area now, but moving across the country.

Actually 504. The typical are extra time and team taught classes. You can get class notes. Others will have more information- my son had multiple issues.

is the only issue ADHD? That they might be able to get a 529 plan and not an IEP. MY DD has an IEP because she also has issues with reading and math and she has a short term memory. She is in Team taught classes, and gets test read to, and takes the test in a different classroom.

My 8th grader with ADHD will be moving from mainstream private to public school next year, due to a job change and relocation.
I'm curious what supports have worked for other kids.
