Post 02/15/2025 11:07     Subject: Seeking a private chef for 2 days per week #chef

Hello:
We are looking for a private chef that would come to our house to cook two days per week. The chef would plan menus, shop, prepare meals, and all clean up in the kitchen. An ideal chef is well organized and extremely clean.

Ideal Days we are looking for: Mondays and Wednesdays (open to discussing)
Monday's visit: provides dinner for Monday and Tuesday and lunch for Tuesday
Wednesday's visit: provides dinner for Wednesday and Thursday and lunch for Thursday

This would be for two adults and two children. We enjoy all styles of food. All food must be prepared with healthy and fresh ingredients. Menus do not have to be fancy - but everything should be made from scratch.

This is a permanent year-round part time position. All food costs are paid by the client in addition to the chef's fee.

If you are interested and qualified, or know someone that may be interested, please contact me. We will require references for ideally prior private chef experience or if not, culinary experience.

Thank you.

OP here. PP, Gloria's Kitchen is exactly what I'm looking for and what you describe is effectively what we currently have (except the chef purchases the groceries and we reimburse, which is ideal for us).

Also planning to speak to White House Nannies to see how they can help.

Thanks for the suggestions so far!

Personal Chef is too fancy a term in my case. I found a woman who cooks at her home home. She lives nearby, so we usually drop off the ingredients and she prepares 4-5 meals, some to eat during the week, and others to freeze. Since we provide all the ingredients, she charges only for effort. She doesn’t have a menu, we just discussed the type of foods that she knows how to make and what we’d like, agreed on some dishes (and how we like them, spice/ no spice that sort of thing).

Here is someone who was recommended to me, when I was searching: https://glorias.kitchen/

PP just means a domestic staffing agency. They place Nannies, estate managers, personal assistants, chefs etc.

I’m a nanny and my boss has this service, they found the chef through an estate agency. Rate is $500/day not including food costs. Lunch, dinner, snacks for 3 adults (they include me!) and 2 elementary kids.

I'm not sure if this is the right forum (or if there is a "right" forum for this on DCUM), but does anyone have recommendations for a personal chef who deliver meals to your home on a weekly basis and work with you to customize the menu? The usual platforms (Care.com, Thumbtack, etc.) haven't turned up anything promising so far. We are currently working with someone but he's about to transition to a different job. We're based in Bethesda/Chevy Chase.
