Bathing once a week isn’t enough at that age unless she’s entirely sedentary.

Massages conditioner, then uses loofah to apply and scrub shampoo, lays down to wash it out.

I don’t understand. She uses conditioner before shampoo? She uses a loofah in her hair?

Do I force her to start taking showers or just let her be?

Just let her be. Don’t force her to grow up too fast if she enjoys a bath for goodness sakes let her take it. You’re going to miss these days one day.

Ew. That’s a lot of stuff not getting rinsed away in dirty bath water. I would insist on a shower rinse at the end of a bath.

She cleans herself once a week?

It's fine to take baths.

But are you saying she only bathes once a week? That is not normal in our society.

My 20 year Dd in college still takes regular baths. She showers as well to wash her hair.

Why would you force her to give up something harmless that she enjoys?

My 12yo (almost 13) DD takes baths every week. She says she doesn't like showers because they are "less relaxing". She loves bath bombs, uses them often, and sometimes will read on her waterproof Kindle in the bath. Is this weird? Her younger sister only takes showers.
