I am interested in music and art exposure to my child, and I am curious what do they teach in ES/MS by grade? For art, when do they introduce acrylic, oil pastel, charcoal, watercolor, oil etc? Do they introduce folding paper (origami), clay, pottery or glass etc? For music, what do they teach? Do they teach how to read music sheet, singing, instrument (what kind)?
I am thinking to sign up my kid in studio or class for exposure if school does not have those curiculum/resources for these. I know it is once a week class from school. Anyone has recommendation for affordable beginner level group classes in person in these 2 areas? Are visarts or glen echo or artbarns the way to go for art? I know nothing abiut music.
Different teachers teach different things. Few teach music reading to ES kids, though.

I don't think it would be weird at all. I would go ahead and email them your questions, as they are probably the only ones who can provide the answers.
