DH is in an over-40 league and does this all the time. He has to practice to avoid injuries.

Yeah of course. There's a 20-30 year old man that frequently does drills with a soccer ball in our local park. Nothing weird about it, clearly he's working out/practicing.

As long as it wasn't on a kids field I wouldn't even notice. I might assume you were waiting for a pickup game? There are adults who come to shoot hoops at my local playground, too. (They politely clear out if there are a lot of kids or the kids are near the courts.)
