Do you have a GI bill?

No benefit for DoD or fed civilians.

GI Bill for service member or dependent if transfer of benefits done at appropriate time in service.

Disabled veterans have many benefits. Dependents of disabled veterans can get instate tuition or tuition waivers in some states (I think Texas does this for Texas residents.)

Your question is very unclear. Is it tuition for the veteran or their dependents? Do they have a GI Bill?

If you mean GI Bill, make sure it has been properly transferred (can be tricky). Many private schools will offer yellow ribbon in addition which can significantly reduce costs. But, each school is different. And, you only get about 4 years covered, so if more than one child, will have some semesters out of pocket.

Does not apply to feds.

Some schools will give you in state tuition if you use any portion of a GI bill to start. All state schools give you in state tuition if the active duty parent is active duty or fewer than 3 years retired. Yellow ribbon schools match GI contribution.

Are certain states better for getting tuition covered for veterans. This is a planning question and I also wonder if it applies to civilian military employees. Is there any similar benefit for feds?
