Keep in mind that missing one day of summer school is probably equivalent to missing a week of that particular class during the school year. For some summer school classes, it may be very difficult to catch up as material really does build on itself (particularly math and physical science courses). If it's health or something, it's probably fine.

OP. It would be health and only missing the last day.

I’ve heard that health is very difficult in the summer and that it is very rigid.

A lot of busy work, and they were quite insistent that our kid attend the in-person last day.

I messed up the scheduling and realized only after classes had started that my kid would have to miss the last day. It was fine. Kid emailed teacher, they said just get everything turned in.

That’s great to hear!
I would hate for my kid to miss out on the job because of an hour and a half of a class!

No, just basing it off last summer.

There’s no attendance policy in MCPS. They try to be strict for summer classes but ultimately if one day is missed and all work is completed, the student will earn credit.

I know it says all synchronous days are mandatory, but is there any wiggle room?
For example, if a kid has a camp or job that starts the last day (which appears to always be a Monday), is there any chance they can they be excused?
