Shady Grove have very detailed data on my chances after my consultation and the D3 labs were back. Like another poster said it was super thorough in setting expectations.

My RE looked at my numbers (undetectable AMH) at age 37 and said do donor egg or adopt. I was 37. I cried, and asked him to please give natural cycle one shot. He agreed and said it would be a miracle if it worked. That miracle is almost 10, and I never had another period.

Yes. I was told, after multiple early-term miscarriages, all in the first 6-10 weeks, 5% chance even with IVF, I was devastated but made peace eventually, and made plans for a kid-free life.

I was enjoying life.

Two years later, surprise I conceived with no interventions and delivered a healthy baby boy. I was 42. A year and a few months later, I was pregnant again (no interventions) and delivered a second healthy baby boy at 44.

Life is funny!

Yep, my Dr went through all of the numbers with me based on their very large data set. I was told I would have a 70% chance of success with one retrieval and it was successful on the third transfer. This was at SGF.

Anonymous wrote:Yes - I got a detailed pyramid chart based on my age and numbers from the testing.

It was like, 60% chance of first transfer sticking, and 75% chance of any of the embryos from first round IVF being successful. Then same stats inclusive of round 2 if needed etc. and those #s were higher.

I think it even started off as expected # of eggs, how many would fertilize, how many would make it to Day 5 etc. This was at SGF. I felt very informed though I was skeptical anything would work after IUI etc failed.

(My stats were high bc I was under 35, unexplained infertility, etc)

Wanted to add that these clinics know all this data bc they are basically required to track it for SAART. So the transparency is pretty straightforward to implement if they want to do it.

I’ve been to REs at two clinics and both gave me percentages based on my age and other factors. I think this is normal. It can be hard to hear, but it’s important information to set reasonable expectations and select an appropriate treatment plan.

I knew the percentage of normal embryos resulting in live births from the clinic but the dr said we would have a baby and he was right!

Mine said odds are very bad. Do donor egg or adopt. I cried on his desk and asked to please just try IVF one time. He agreed and that kid is now 9. My Amh was <.01

Just curious. I met one who wouldn't say beyond, "let's see, but it seems like odds are good." The next one said "20%." I found the latter more confidence inspiring, oddly enough. Even though those aren't great odds.
