Tell them it makes you uncomfortable that they comment so often. And then do this and this.

You could say you buy secondhand, if you think that's easier than telling them to stop. There's a ton of nice stuff on the secondary market now because of WFH.

But don't change. They are rude.

Just say, "thank you. I love your (whatever)"

Keep doing what you're doing OP, even slender people get same type of comments. I think people just want to feel better about not putting any effort and looking like slobs.

It sounds like you dress appropriately for a professional office, so I would keep on doing your thing if it makes you feel good.

Can you stick to a single bag? Once it feels "uniform" it will be weird for people to be commenting on it.

But you can also just pretend all the comments are compliments/joke about how clothing is your preferred indulgence/talk about how you got these things on poshmark/etc.

It would annoy me after awhile, OP, so I get it. Of course, I would likely respond with a rude "well, we can't all look good in everything like you do..." and then change the subject.

I'd be careful here, because there's mob mentality at play. If you're gutsy, you can actually verbalize that you buy these clothes because of your weight... because that leads into territory no decent co-worker would ever go!

+1. I was told that you should dress for the next job you want. It has served me well. It sounds like you wear good quality, professional attire so don't change for envious colleagues.

I work in a small office and know my coworkers pretty well - enough to know DH and I have the highest HHI by far (though still low by DCUM standards, maybe $220k). I don't flaunt that, but I do tend to dress nicely and carry better handbags than them, for the simple fact that I'm very overweight and can't get away with cheaper fabrics and less structured accessories - I look like a fat slob! I'm not even talking super pricey - maybe a Coach or Brahmin bag and Talbots or J Jill vs. Target or LuLaRoe. I do have a pair of Louboutins I used to love wearing but had to stop, because...

...they continually comment on how pricey my clothes (and the few purses, especially) must be. Where is the happy medium here? Nothing has giant logos on it, so like I said, I'm not flaunting. Our dress code is business casual, but lots of people wearing leggings and tunics, something I just can't do. Do I really need to buy a cheap purse for work purposes? I love spending a bit more on them because handbags don't care how much I weigh.
