I deal with a lot of millennials in my job/s and I'll have to say, my millennial kids don't communicate like them. They understand nuance, pick up the phone and call, are empathetic.

That’s a wonderful story. I have a young adult son who still lives at home. He’s my oldest and due to disabilities he struggled in school. He became a mechanic. He calls me almost every day to see if I want him to pick up younger kids so I can go to the gym. He takes care of all regular car maintenance. He pitches in around the house without ever being asked. My heart is full. He is so thoughtful and helpful every day and having him as my son makes my life better.
