You don’t. Just don’t if you don’t want to. If anyone comments you can reply that you’re not Irish and you didn’t feel like wearing Green. There is no need to participate in things you don’t want to, just let go of that imaginary burden.

Np - Jewish friends can correct me here, but from what I know many Jewish people don’t celebrate Saint Patrick’s day or Saint Valentine’s Day because they are holidays named after Christian saints.

No one actually celebrates those as happy holidays though other than an MLK parade and a speech at work. There isn't special food, special colors and activities (like leprechaun traps) associated.

Honestly, it's like "May the Fourth Be With You" on May 4th. Or Valentine's Day or Mardi Gras or Cinco de Mayo.

Totally fine if you don't celebrate or acknowledge in any way, but not worth getting upset about IMO. Small little random days to provide entertainment or levity make life more enjoyable. I once worked in an office that had fun every year with "Talk Like A Pirate Day" in September. It was stupid in a funny kind of way, and funny in a stupid kind of way.

No one is forcing you. To answer your question about others celebrating, people like fun holidays every month.

We celebrate it because it is my son’s birthday, my grandmother’s birthday and my MIL was Irish.
