He also had a very prominent role at Disney for a long time. Not someone who you would expect to be a household name minus the social media/marriage stuff, but definitely someone who would get media obits, etc.

Sounds like a niche thing, more notoriety than celebrity.


It’s definitely an internet thing for people who follow bloggers and stuff. Rachel was definitely more well-known of course because of her blog and books, but they did constantly play up their marriage until their sudden divorce.

She famously posted a pic of herself in a bikini with stretch marks from motherhood (it had like 10 mill views), wrote several books including Girl Wash your Face and Girl Stop Apologizing.. then had a fall from fame as she made several stumbles including plagiarising quotes and then the TikTok video where someone told her she was unreliable since she had a housekeeper- she snapped back comparing her self to Harriet Tubman! (more to it but it was ridiculous and tone deaf). She touted a perfect relationship, she and Dave gave people all sorts of relationship advice ... then they had a very public divorce.
