This website tolerates quite a bit of anti-Catholic baloney. No doubt about it. Jeff will deny it and say the problem can easily be solved if posters would just report offensive posts or threads, but having to do that over and over again is exhausting. Moreover, the "ruling" more often than not is in favor of the offensive post, which does nothing to discourage the bigots from dancing very close to and often veer off of the edge.

It's Jeff's website, of course, and he can do what he wants. All I'm saying is that his insistence that he's a fair and impartial moderator when it comes to anti-Catholic postings on his website rings hallow with many of us. He's human, after all, and like all humans we're not always fully cognizant of our own prejudices and shortcomings.

Interesting that you think they are all women.

Cyberbullying would involve people posting on her actual media, not commenting in a place she'll likely never see.

Some institutions deserve mocking.

The same people who want to run our lives on their belies demand that no one talk about their beliefs! It’s InToLeRaNcE!

The thread didn’t even do what the OP said. You guys are working the ref with this thread, or attempting to.

To me the bigots ARE the hypocritical “religious” folk. My dad is the worst bigot I know. They do not mock themselves.

It’s not right to mock Christianity, etc.

OK, well, start and moderate your own message board and make that the rule.

I just wasted a significant amount of time reading that thread because of this post and I don't see anything even close to what you are describing. There is some discussion about the church to which she belongs (or belonged), but that church has repeatedly been in the news due to multiple scandals in which either the church organization or its leaders have been involved. This is only cited as an indication that her life might not be as perfect as the article suggests. There may be a post or two that someone could credibly argue go a bit too far, but your suggestion that there are 8-10 pages of bullying her due to religion is simply false. I would appreciate your keeping any future reports significantly more grounded in reality.

Most of it reads like punching up on a wealthy lady. People are allowed to criticize her religion; many of us grew up in similar faith traditions. We know it well.

Punching up is allowed. Whether it should be or not is another question.
