Abysmal preparation in ELA.

The HIGH curriculum and enrichment was gutted during Covid and the deficit continued last year, leaving students unprepared for AP
Gov.

Math is bad but probably not worse than mcps overall. Regardless, students are poorly prepared for algebra 2.

Behavior is shocking on the buses and throughout the day at school. Horrible school culture and environment. Students say shocking things to teacher and each other and there is no consequence.

It is hard to explain but it is true at least for Tilden. No first hand experience with NB. Tilden is terrible

Tilden is awful. Maybe all
Mcps middle school is awful but it seems our friends elsewhere in the county have been experiences than recent Tilden

Tilden day of caring is one day, run by a bunch of parents. It is nice but does not outweigh the other 181 instructional days of inferior academics, lack of discipline and minimal extracurricular opportunities (fall play, school musical excepted). Even theater isn’t ideal- many kids avoid because of the intensity.

Would take a mediocre building filled with better environment and teachers over the new Tilden building. Physical plant isn’t enough to overcome the school experience deficiency.

Definitely avoid this one if you can.

Return for WJ- amazing how different from Tilden

How many swastika hate crimes have they had the past 6 months. At least 2. That is concerning

In theory that is true. But it seems grossly inferior to other mcps middle schools.

Almost no extracurricular activities (stage is one exception), very weak academics and no discipline.

WJ is outstanding. If you can find an alternative to avoid Tilden and return to WJ, may be a good idea.

Sounds like Tilden is pretty similar to North Bethesda
