High salt content. Cook yourself where you know the ingredients

Sure you do. You just don’t feel like it.

The time it took you to go the wegman’s, pick out the Mac and cheese, check out, drive home, you could have made something simple. Tons of things can be made in under 30 min or even under 20. Especially if you are just cooking for yourself

It was probably accurate within 100ish calories or so. The bigger question is was it nutritionally dense (no) and would 350 calories of other food probably been more satisfying and have things like protein and nutrients in it (yes).

You’re confusing weight and volume ounces. The 16oz on the package would be weight, meaning that one serving is half a pound. There’s no way half a pound of cooked pasta could be so low, right?

Not confusing them. That’s why I posted both weight and volume. There is some wiggle room as different pasta have somewhat different weight/volume (also depends on how well cooked it is), but that works as a rough guideline.

I understand your frustration with not trusting calorie counts. You bought it because it seemed like a delicious meal in your calorie range.

It might be close. Lobster, cheese and pasta is pretty heavy, so it seems like 8 ounces would not really be that much food. Perhaps it was less cheesy and more spices.

It was good, but not worth blowing 100 or more additional calories. It was a little spicy, too. The lobster didn’t take up a whole lot of the volume of the packaging. I should have gotten cooked shrimp and a big salad.

As long as I’m counting the calories and everything adds up to being at my goal or under it, why does it matter? It only matters to me that the packaging is possibly incorrect so that I can adjust my eating today.

Bye bye, judgy.

I can't help you here, but I am certain that the vegan pad thai at Trader Joes from about 15 years ago was mislabled!

I recently started tracking calorie intake for all meals. Tonight, I stopped by Wegmans on the way home and grabbed some prepared foods. I have been pretty restrictive lately, and I buckled when I saw the lobster mac and cheese at only 350 calories per serving in a two-serving container (16oz total).

After putting half on my plate, it seemed like a ton of pasta for that calorie count and only 33g of carbs.

The label can be found by navigating around this page: https://shop.wegmans.com/product/50599/wegmans-ready-to-cook-lobster-mac-and-cheese

Anyway, there is no way in heck that I only consumed 350 calories, right?
