You are college touring with both kids.

Only three people max can attend the tour, so DS and either DH or I will go on the tour, while one of us stays behind with DD who is 15. Are there places to walk around, shop, eat, etc. walking distance from campus while they tour? We both want to at least see the campus so do not want to stay behind at the hotel with DD.

Just sign up for a tour for your 15 year old. They can start touring early. Also, no school where we’ve toured has checked the number of people in our group. Some tours we could have just walked right into without checking in (ie UVA has online checkin).
