Not at all.

Most of South DC is sea level and swamp, the worst thing when sea level rises.


+1 a coastal area is not at ALL where you want to be; I’d get off my high horse

I agree. I have lived in (and loved!) Texas and Southern California, but there is no way in hell I would live out west now. It’s a ticking time bomb with regard to water access/infrastructure.

That’s right! We’ve made it a whopping 40 years now so that proves that the region is stable for modern civilization! Anything that could ever happen would have already happened over the course of 4 decades!

We moved to AZ a few years ago. People are not fleeing en masse. Quite the opposite is happening. They can't build houses fast enough. Yes, if you move to a far out suburb with no established water supply you may be SOL (Rio Verde Foothills https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-environment/2023/01/16/rio-verde-foothills-water-scottsdale-arizona/) but residential water is not the crisis you're trying to make it out to be.

They're not climate refugees. They're real estate speculators. They think housing prices in Arizona will drop because of water shortages that have existed for 40+ years. Have you looked at home values in AZ? People aren't moving any time soon. It's one of the largest growing cities.

Don't delude yourselves. We will all suffer the consequences of climate change. Yes, some faster than others. But what do you think it will be like when all of those people come this direction and we can no longer get the food that was once grown in other areas? Do you think these internal displacements of people will be peaceful and orderly?

Agree. It's bleak in the desert Southwest wrt water and only getting bleaker. Not to mention wildfires and forest fires.
