My DC is a student at Whitman. Hasn’t seen it at school, but knows there is a group that parties a lot. Is not sure what type of drugs or to what extent, but thinks most kids drink and smoke pot rather than do hard drugs.

Different drugs. More hard drugs and prescription drugs than weed. More stimulant abuse.

Drugs at both schools, similar demographic and I have kids at one and my best friends' kids are at the other.
This is going to be about parenting, interventions, paying attention to your kids, and some good luck, honestly.
I have one kid at one of these schools and other at a local private and there are drugs there too. Everytime my kids go out with friends I remind them - no drugs, no pills, don't smoke or drink something you don't know what is in it. Its stressful and hard but unless you homeschool them, it's pretty hard to avoid.

I would say they’re about the same, just like any other school. The major difference is the kids at the wealthier schools have parents with the means to either get these charges dismissed or influence to keep it out of the news.

I agree that it gets hard to avoid completely regardless of the school, so go with a good one (which whitman is!) and if your kid is prone to being lured in you should talk to them asap as that's the best way to get in front of it.

RIGHT!
It's not like there's some index we can point you to that here are the "druggiest" high schools in MCPS.
I will say that based on DCUM feedback, we've heard less about visible drug issues at Whitman compared to B-CC, but that might not mean anything. Those parents just might not be DCUM posters.

I think you're kidding yourself if you expect any realistic feedback here. No parent can reasonably gauge whether there is a bigger issue with drugs at one MCPS HS vs. another one.
BCC is in an uproar right now bc the school newspaper wrote an expose. Good for them! OP I would assume there were more drugs at Whitman than at BCC, because the demographics of the cluster skew richer. Sorry I don't know of any hard statistics to point you to.
