OP here. My definition of spending money is different from someone else’s I’m sure, but for me it includes spending $15 on public transportation in one day that wasn’t “necessary” for any reason.
I’m thrifty myself, but while I may wish that public transit costs were cheaper, I don’t consider them “something pricey”. Maybe you could see if there are savings in buying weekly/monthly passes.
Maybe you could budget it as a vacation expense and think about how much you’re saving on airfare and hotels.
