Walked into brunch last weekend at Medium Rare with no problem.

So make reservations. You're acting like restaurants are popular at brunch "at" you. Lots of people want to eat brunch in a restaurant, and it's the kind of meal where people can really linger and take up tables for a long time. There are only so many spots. What should happen?

Could have been put in a much kinder way, but this poster is exactly right.

I don’t go to brunch anymore because it doesn’t make sense. I don’t want to pay $30 for a meal I can myself for $7, and have it be ready faster than it would take to get a seat at a restaurant.

I called around to 4 or 5 places near us (S Arlington) all with 1.5+ hour waits, and they won't put you on the list unless you go stand there for that whole time and wait for your name to be called. Is this a DC area thing or everywhere now? Ridiculous that you can't go anywhere good without making reservations weeks in advance.

Restaurants need more service workers! Encourage your kids to go into hospitality services instead of professional careers so this doesn’t continue.

It's like this in smaller cities too!
