My kid chose Blair because he is interested in STEM and also his brother goes to Blair.

My kid got in to both and is picking Blair because:

- he’s mostly interested in STEM subjects though strong all around
- Blair is our home school
- RM would be a horrible commute
- many of his friends got in to the same program
- he’s not that interested in (or familiar with) an IB program, but applied mostly to keep his options open

They are two very different programs. One is STEM, and the other is more general (people say humanities, but we do not think so). One seems more loaded more heavily in first two years, the other in the later two. What does your child like? What other activities is your child involved in and will be in the program allow for extracurriculars? Where do you you all live and is commute an issue?

FWIW, my child was admitted to several program including Blair and RMIB and declined to stay local.

Best of luck with your choice. Go to the Open House and ask all your questions.
