I think one or two of the restaurants in DC’s Chinatown might go back as far as the ‘70s. I don’t know them well enough to know which ones survived the Metro construction, but looking at the histories of those restaurants could be a good place to start.

Peking Gourmet Inn, but that's "newer" - since 1978.

Anyone know which Chinese restaurants in the DMV? I'm looking to eat at a place that looks feels like a time capsule. I do not need 'authentic' Chinese food. I don't care if they serve General Tso's and Chop Suey, because I can appreciate the authenticity of Chinese immigrants having to invent new dishes for foreign palates just so that they could survive. Are there eany standing Chinese restaurants that go as far back as the 50s? The 40s? Even the 30s or earlier? Bonus points too if they've kept some kind of original decorations as a homage to their roots.
