Tracy Kidder just wrote a book about a guy in Boston who's been trying to help the unhoused in Boston for long time. It's called Rough Sleepers.

I think his conclusion is it will be neverending work but it's worth doing.

I remember him too. I don't agree he didn't accomplish much. It is a problem that isn't going away .

I remember him from the 80’s, and the protests he organized. For all the noise he made, he never really accomplished much, and then killed himself. I wonder if he finally realized it was an impossible task because you can’t help people who the vast majority of don’t want help because they mentally ill or addicts.

Definitely I do. Lots of coverage of homeless advocacy on the local news, not sure that’s the case now.

He’s been dead for 33 years now. Anyone from here will know who he was . There don’t seem to be people like him anymore , organizations sure but not individuals
