+1 the extra days they tack on at the end of the school year to makeup for snow days is a joke. Nothing is taught in part because people have already made plans for the summer, and pull their kids out of school before the school year ends due to the expanded timeline.

some parts of the county got snow. strange that the weather forecasters were off about this.

we were thrilled to see a nice blanket on grass this morning. despite no snow sticking on roads, i was absolutely shocked mcps didn't unnecessarily delay the start of school. guess mcps can surprise you sometimes.

It looked like close to an inch on top of cars, but has started melting in the sun. Aspen Hill

That's exactly what my kids complained about. Those were some bad precedents set! Now anytime there is even cold rain my kids feel entitled to hot chocolate and late mornings...!

Yes! My 5th grader told me that at the very least she needed hot chocolate with marshmallows if the cruel overlords at MCPS were going to make her brave the walk to school without so much as a two-hour delay.

We are in Frederick County and didn't have a delay either. I was surprised since we had accumulation on the ground.

Temps are above freezing, so no risk of ice or issues starting diesel buses. This is just decorative snow.

PP above me, tell your kids that freezing rain was the issue last time for upcounty. You don't want buses skidding off the road and injuring people.
