Whenever you want - but then you give other perks - gym membership, more vacation days, etc.

Do her living expenses have a cap?

Troll. This is the most unhelpful response.

Yeah, but in my case we have multiple children, so it isn’t just a 4 year stint. If we keep her until the youngest starts kindergarten, could easily be close to 10 years.

I was with my last family for 10 years and got a $1 raise every year. Went from $24 to $34 in 10 years.

We raised our nanny’s salary $1.50 this year. She’s at $31 hourly, highly experienced and with all the credentials. She’s started right when my baby girl was about 8 weeks. We’re first time parents and our nanny has helped us tremendously with sleep training and meal preparation.

Yes, $1-2/hr is industry standard.

Yes, Nannie’s typically get an annual raise. A dollar an hour is typical. If you’re paying around $25 that’s a 4% raise, which basically is just a cost of living adjustment. Doesn’t your salary typically go up each year, too?

My nanny’s one year anniversary is coming up. Nothing about her responsibilities are changing but is it expected that we would increase her hourly wage after one year if we are happy with her work? We gave her a holiday bonus.
