Incorrect, both directly and indirectly. Whether or not a school offers advanced classes and a quality college counseling office matters. You are also ignorant of realty if you think that all applicants of all HS are treated the same. There's a reason that elite boarding schools and superior ranked public HS get 4-10 kids into Ivy schools when most schools can hope for 1 or 2. Colleges weigh he reputation and prior outcomes in considering admissions.

None of this is to say that a school can get an unqualified kid into a an elite school, or that a kid can't gain admission from DCI or any school. But it is ignorance and folly to ignore the reality.

But a college list can’t answer this question. One school might have several T15 matriculations, but they’re all hooked, so they tell you nothing about your own child’s chances. Another school might have T15 admissions that never appear on the college list because the student chose a lower-ranked school that offered merit.

And don't base a decision on where to attend high school off of any current list of matriculations.
What applies to X, Y or Z kid in the current class may be entirely irrelevant to your kid, even if they look the same, have the same grades, etc.

You also need to understand the complexities of college applications and the student body.

At more affluent schools, students can apply "early decision" to places where they are going to be able to commit regardless of the aid that they receive. This is a big part of the applications for top schools as if you are able to apply early, the chances of acceptance are higher - and colleges like this as they are able to lock in a % of their student body.

Maybe you have already done this, but I really, really, really recommend familiarizing yourself with the current state of college admissions before looking at current college lists from any high school. It is not 1990 anymore.

Didn't really mean anything about it. At a feeder so interested in DCI results but also those of other schools that we may consider as alternatices to DCI. But to be honest, I am most interested in heating how things are going for DCI college admissions a few years in. Perhaps I should have omitted the "and rivals" from my subject line.
Anyway - looking to hear about how it's going for DCI seniors from people with firsthand knowledge.
