Understand that teachers were given one date months ago and may have other commitments that preclude rescheduling for some time. In addition, school buildings are used by outside groups in the evenings and schools can’t bounce a booked group. Open House isn’t like shadowing. Prospective students don’t get a sense of the vibe of the building. They can look at pictures and video yo see what the building is like.
When my Dc toured ces it was absolutely during the day and was extremely helpful. I am sorry Mcps botched this but they need to fix it. That may require rearranging some things but it’s worth it in this case and very much in the children’s best interest.

If they can't do an open house due to staff or building availability they should allow for small group tours during the school day.
