I’d think you’d need to ask the school that question. Unless you want to share the name of the school, nobody here will know what rules they have in place.

Kid’s school asks to adopt a piece of garden to take care for the year, can I plant vegetables like tomato, eggplant, herbs, lettuce etc? Or are they restricted to evergreen or flowers or shrubs?
