Not true. Our neighbor has kids at Woodson right now due to AP placement. Kings park west (laurel ridge). So, it really depends on where you live. Lake Braddock would NOT take the kids due to distance


That’s what I was saying. They don’t simply look at where you went to middle. It’s availability and class selection.


ETA that Woodson looks closer to transfers right now, so I didn’t list that

If Robinson is truly dropping the APs, a lot of kids are going to try and make the placement to surrounding schools.

Thanks for this. Transportation will not be a problem, but unsure about how often waivers are given. It looks like Robinson does offer some AP classes (I think??) so does it just have to be the ones that are not offered at Robinson?

Would rather not take Japanese if we can avoid it, but if that is the only path, will give it a go.


If you commit that an incoming freshman will eventually take AP courses not available at Robinson you should not have any problem.

Not sure how much longer AP classes will survive at Robinson with IB as primary. AP may fade away some time soon...
