What plan do you do if you do this?

two weeks and your body will adjust.

The best tip I received was that hunger comes in waves, and I found that to be true. You get hungry, and you think you're going to starve, but the "wave" goes away in 20-30 min, so if you can just keep your brain occupied, go for a walk etc, you can get through until the wave goes away.

As for hunger, I am never hungry because I eat a lot of fat and protein during my eating window.

Have you had success with the 14 hour fast?

Read, “Fast Like a Girl” by Dr. Mindy Peltz. Great book. There are definitely times that women should and shouldn’t fast. Good luck!

Coffee is a great appetite suppressant for me. I add heavy cream, no sugar.

I did it for 13 months. I watched the clock like a hawk. It ventured into eating disorder territory. NEver again. It worked though.

You have to build up tolerance. It does take a decent amount of will power just starting out. I would have 3-4 cups of coffee is which would get me to noon. Then just chewing gum and staying busy until 2/3. Sometimes I go for a walk or go to the gym at noon to get me through last couple hours. After a while your body adjusts and you learn to tolerate the hungry feeling.

Hmm.. maybe I should try black coffee. Coffee tends to make me hungry but I add stevia and a little tiny bit of oat milk.

Thanks, I will check. I'm a woman in my 30s. It's validating to read that 16 hours is hard because I thought there was something wrong with me. I get really hungry toward 14 hours and feel like a failure if I can't make it to 16.

PP here - yes 16 is pretty difficult, and not recommended for many women because it can negatively affect hormone levels. There are some excellent podcasts out there on this topic if you're interested. [/quote

Thank you for letting me know this. I won't be aiming for 16 anymore (not that I will miss it). Any podcasts in particular you recommend?

I found the first month difficult and just required a decent amount of willpower, after that I don't even think about it and rarely feel any hunger in the off hours.

How do you do this if you get really hungry? Any tips on pushing through the hunger? I'm attempting to do the 16:8 plan.
